Quite neutral despite its obvious fruity nature the sweetness has been tempered by plenty of wood talking here and saying good things. I really enjoyed this one. 85/100

An interesting mix of peat-smoke and Calvados, quite light from the peaty whisky side which adds some darker notes of liqourice, clove and tar. 84/100
A lovely nutty, buttery and slightly coastal nature imbued here which really compliment the sweet apple and nutty French oak nature of the core Calvados. 85/100
A much sweeter and more vanillic expression following finishing in aSpeyside whisky cask, more body generate from a hint of malty cereal barley also. 84/100
A lovely introductory apple/fruit-led flavour, quite light on the palate and a hint of French oak maturation. 83/100
Pere Magloire VSOP Pays d’Auge Calvados Calvados Review: Enjoyable, packed full of fruit and oak as you would expect, a touch of leathery tannins add spice and dryness. 83/100
Christian Drouin VSOP Calvados Pays d’Auge Calvados Review: A much more classical introductory Calvados here with a fine balance between fruity apple spirit and tannic oak cask influences, grows on the palate. 83/100
Chauffe Coeur Reserve VSOP Calvados Calvados Review: Deliciously tart fruit and spicy oak wood, becomes chocolatey, a great aperitif as it is light in both body and palate. 86/100
Comte Louis de Lauriston VSOP Calvados Domfrontais Calvados Review: Very well structured, quite slick with great texture but a little ethereal in terms of distinct flavours – a really great blend with a perfect balance of fruit and wood. 85/100
