A little sweeter with more fruit and a touch more spirity perhaps than the Legacy release, plenty of flavour here with sweet barley, smoky & peppery peat and salty coastal influences.
Surprisingly soft and well-integrated there is something very much elemental about this whisky which more than resembles it closest neighbour on Skye. Definitively a product of its environment – the future looks bright at Torabhaig!
Sweet and spicy, plenty of rum influence here and bourbon maturation too but in all this polished / boiled sweetness I was left wondering where the classic ‘Jura’ elements were that I usually love so much? 83/100
Another pleasant under-cooked or rather under-casked Jura. Full of minty buttery toffee and a dollop of vanilla cream for good measure too. 83/100
Awesome, full of sherry and smoke, benefits from time and water too. Powerful sherry and sweet influence here but works really well. 91/100
A superb Ledaig expression full of peat smoke, salty coastal influence and sherried/dried fruits. 84/100
Quite harsh/spicy, black pepper and cinnamon overpower the fruitiness quite quickly, certainly needs a drop of water and readily reveals that metallic edge/hot radiator nature. 77/100
A lovely expression full of salted caramel and soft peat smoke. 85/100
Another characteristically fruity Arran dram, still quite spicy and perhaps a little less sweet and vanillic most likely due to the use of a refill hogshead for maturation here. 84/100
Takes a drop of water well, still some dry peppery spices present but deliciously sweet and fruity throughout this one. 86/100
