Comte Louis de Lauriston Hors d’Age Calvados Domfrontais Calvados Review: A lighter and finer expression on the palate also a touch spicier and with distinct chocolate notes. 86/100

Comte Louis de Lauriston VSOP Calvados Domfrontais Calvados Review: Very well structured, quite slick with great texture but a little ethereal in terms of distinct flavours – a really great blend with a perfect balance of fruit and wood. 85/100
Pacory Calvados Domfrontais Hors d’Age Calvados Review: Very fruity and fresh, slightly ascerbic and drying fresh oak influence with masses of vanilla throughout to complement the sweetness of the fruits. 85/100
Lemorton 10 ans Vieux Calvados Domfrontais review: Balanced, sweet fruits, some fresh and some a little stewed, oak wood and gentle spices. Similar in profile to the 5 year old expression but with a little more depth. 86/100
Pacory Calvados Domfrontais 20 ans Review: Super-smooth, fruit juice then wood carried on oils, full of herbal tannins and utterly delicious – this reminded me of eating apple sauce before a mouthful of sage-wrapped roast pork – that brilliant combination of flavours that whilst strong all work so well together and somehow become greater than the sum of its parts. 94/100
Lemorton 5 ans Réserve Vieux Calvados Domfrontais Review: A delicious introduction to Lemorton Calvados Domfrontais, Lemorton Réserve presents full & ripe orchard fruits from the spirit character it is made from, with the oak ageing taming this and adding a little hint of caramelised sugar and vanilla. 84/100
Much more balanced than the 6 year old Reserve we sampled, a deliciously syrupy sweet and dark caramelised sugar note comes from the wood ageing which is well-balanced against the fresh fruit from the Calvados spirit. The result is pure toffee apples in a glass, delightful! 78/100
A very spirit driven expression, everything from colour to palate suggested very little wood influence in this Calvados making me suspect it had been aged in older refill casks. A solid fruity expression for mixing perhaps but a little too light and fruity for sampling neat. 70/100
Calvados Hamard Vieille Reserve Lot 2008 Review: Remarkably drinkable this has a very sweet and light nature to it backed with just a touch of woody oak sugars and spices 84/100
Lemorton 1980 Millésimé Vieux Calvados Domfrontais Review: Perfection! The most complete Calvados I have sampled, beautifully balanced between fruit and oak. It is almost impossible to believe that after 36 years in oak this expression is redolent with the aroma and flavours of fruit ripening in an orchard! 95/100
