Tormore 23 Years Old 1995 Whisky Review: A fantastic combination of juicy tropical fruits, drying tannic leather and soft, gentle, ginger cake spice, superb. 88/100
Heaven Hill 10 Years Old 2009 Whisky Review: Closed and a little difficult at cask strength, a little water softens and opens up this one. Plenty of caramel and a hint of fruit but overall this is very palate-neutral. 76/100
Loch Lomond 13 Years Old 2005 The Single Cask Whisky Review: lovely, a really nice thick and greasy fried banana and smoke element in here as well as plenty of malty cereal and fruity spirit. 87/100
Miltonduff 10 Years Old 2008 The Single Cask whisky review: A delightful cask strength and relatively straightforward/unfussy expression. The cask has had plenty of influence here as you would expect from 1st fill, making this very palateable. The balance is in favour of cask over spirit character here which works very well. I’m not sure I am any closer to uncovering the DNA or character of Miltonduff after these expressions but they were both very pleasing and enjoyable. 83/100
Caol Ila 7 Years Old 2012 Claxton’s whisky review: Very drinkable, quite simple and clean on the palate but all the better for it. Sweet vanilla with a hint of citrus meets peat smoke and wood. 83/100
Longmorn 10 Years Old 2008 Claxton’s whisky review: Young, spirity and possibly refill bourbon? Viewed as a work in progress this shows great potential, some lovely characteristics in here and didn’t need reduced to enjoy. 78/100
