Delicious, redolent of cereal and husks from the Buckwheat this also has some sweet and mineralic nature, perhaps a trace of something metallic later on but doesn’t detract. 87/100

A touch light in body and malt, perhaps I’m expecting more from comparison to similar smoky Islay whisky? Minimal cask influence suggestive of refill ex-Bourbon, just about tempers the smoke here plus a lovely fresh apple nature. 83/100
An absolute and utter Sherry Bomb! A mixture of Christmas cake, espresso coffee and nutty chocolate served to perfection. With an evocative nose of Christmases past and full-on sherry drenched palate, even better despite being perfectly drinkable as presented it also waters well if you desire. 88/100
Quite ‘raw’ tasting with more than a hint of copper giving a real new make spirit vibe and lots of sappy wood thanks to the virgin oak finish, overall educational and enjoyable.
A fascinating full ex-Sauternes maturation has delivered plenty of sweet fruit but equally tannic French oak influence to Glen Moray’s supple spirit. 86/100
Full of jammy red fruits, peat smoke and oily coastal influences, mixed to perfection. 88/100
Tullibardine 14 Years Old 2006 Rum Finish Whisky Review: A real sweet-tooth’s delight, the 7 years in ex-Rum has dolloped dessert all over this whisky. A little like ice-cream with a dram poured over it the whisky starts to seep out of this later displaying a great balance between initial and later cask maturations. 89/100
Foursquare Hereditas 14 Years Old Rum Review: A sweet easy drinking rum that takes water well. 85/100
Ardmore 14 Years Old 2000 Old Particular whisky review: Quite gentle and reserved with a nice dry minerality, overall lemon/vanilla and highland peat predominate, educational. 83/100
Aberfeldy 14 Years Old 2005 whisky review: Another accomplished dram for a bourbon hogshead, a little of Aberfeldy’s honey-like nature shines through in this dram. 83/100
