Whisky Review: Jura 22 Years Old 1992 Old Particular
Single malt scotch whisky
47.9% ABV, £98.88 for 70cl
What they say:
A 22 year old expression from Jura distillery
One of 282 bottles charged from a refill hogshead. Ref – DL10362
This single cask was distilled March 1992 and bottled May 2014
What I say:
Next we sampled this 22 year old beauty from Jura distillery – a favourite of both Tom and I!
Mid amber gold
Pine trees and citrus, quite cleansing on the nose, toffee oak, creamy vanilla and hints of briney sea-spray
Creamy latte coffee, mocha (chocolate and coffee), very smooth mouthfeel, planed pine wood and pencil shavings, hints of salt
Medium, toffee and citric lemon
A classic example from Jura, this has toffee hints and lots of fresh pine wood and lemon citrus without being drying or acidic.
