Edinburgh Whisky Blog Movember Tasting

The Edinburgh Whisky Blog Movember fund-raiser is becoming another yearly tradition, this year was another resounding success with plenty of fine whiskies imbibed and monies raised!

Held at Ruffians barber shop in Edinburgh, the evening started with Martin and Alan from Solid Liquids who had created a bespoke whisky cocktail for the night, called ‘Hankey Hickory’, which used Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend as the base.

The full cocktail recipe is below:

2 parts Hankey banister Heritage Blend

1 part Palomino sherry 0.5 parts cloudy apple juice

0.5 parts Magic Cherry Syrups (cherries macerated in Aberlour a’bunadh and spices)

1 dash Orchard Bitters

The cocktail was then smoked with hickory wood chips and served in a chilled champagne coupe.

This was followed by:
