Water Of Life Society Tasting 14/7

Suntory

Suntory

Sadly I was unable to attend the Suntory tasting presented by Tatsuyo Minagawa their European Brand Ambassador. Apparently I missed one of the best tastings the WOLS has held for some time. Tatsuya went into great detail about the factors affecting whisky production including the seasonality in Japan, and how they deal with this. Thankfully I did get to sample the great line-up that he presented as follows:

Hibiki12yo

Hibiki 12 Years Old ~ 43% (Suntory)

Hibiki_17

Hibiki 17 Years Old ~ 43% (Suntory)

Yamazaki12YO

Yamazaki 12 Years Old ~ 43% (Suntory)

Yamazaki18yo

Yamazaki 18 Years Old ~ 43% (Suntory)

Hakushu12yo

Hakushu 12 Years Old ~ 43% (Suntory)

Hakushu18yo

Hakushu 18 Years Old ~ 43% (Suntory)

Despite missing this tasting I can confirm that this line-up of whiskies contained one of my favourite world whiskies of 2014 and the rest were not far behind.
