I started searching all of the UK supermarkets such as ASDA, Morrison, Tesco and Sainsbury’s particularly using their online grocery shopping websites to compare list prices and offers. Again with a price range of £20 to £25 maximum I picked up the following:
Talisker 10 year old Island single malt scotch whisky [Diageo]
Dalwhinnie 15 year old Highland single malt scotch whisky [Diageo]
Glenkinchie 12 year old Lowland single malt scotch whisky [Diageo]
Singleton of Dufftown 12 year old single malt scotch whisky [Diageo]
Cragganmore 12 year old speyside single malt scotch whisky [Diageo]
Laphroaig 10 year old Islay single malt scotch whisky [http://www.laphroaig.com/]
Tobermory 10 year old Island single malt scotch whisky
Having cut my teeth on a basic range of scotch malt whiskies I inadvertently [due to the offers available] acquired a fair portion of the Diageo range of classic malts. Of these the Cragganmore [light and floral], Singleton [malty] and Talisker [smoky and salty] disappeared very very quickly and I would snap them up again if there were not so many other distilleries & whiskies out there waiting to be tried.
