Friday February the 7th saw the secret tweet tasting of the Highland Park Valhalla Collection. Organised by Steve Rush at the Whisky Wire, an indomitable group of Whiskyphiles set out on a journey to meet the gods of Norse mythology as interpreted by Highland Park Distillery.

Imagine yourself boarding a Viking longship and setting off across the unsettled northern waters for shores unknown!

Guided by Steve (@TheWhiskyWire)  and Highland Park Ambassador Daryl (@DarylHaldane) we set out to discover the delights of Highland Park – Thor, Highland Park – Loki and the newest member of the collection Highland Park – Freya.

Following sampling all three of this magnificent collection my tastebuds lead me to like them in reverse order, with the subtle vanillins in Freya winning the day, followed by Loki’s ever changing nature of peat and sherry influence and last but no means least Thor’s punch of peat power with subtle sherry-finished undertones.
