Vintage Malt was founded in 1992 by Brian Crook, after many years’ in the whisky industry as Export Director for one of Scotland’s best known distillers. His aim was to produce a range of malt whiskies from his country’s finest distilleries and make them available to independent wine and spirit importers throughout the world. Brian’s approach proved so popular with customers that, 24 years on, the company has exported more than 5 million bottles of malt whisky to more than 30 countries across the world, and is recognised as one of Scotland’s leading independent bottlers.
The company’s award winning brands include “Finlaggan” and “The Ileach”, two single malts from distilleries on the island of Islay on the west coast of Scotland and “The Cooper’s Choice” range of single cask bottlings from across the Highlands and Islands.
Vintage Malt is a family business, now run by Brian’s son, Andrew Crook, and daughter, Caroline James. Together they aim to build on the company’s reputation for delivering interesting and unusual whiskies. Their first “Finlaggan Feis Ile” bottling for the Islay Festival sold out in just a few days and sales of the re-launched “Cooper’s Choice” have more than tripled in the past year. Watch out for a range of Jurancon cask finishes coming soon.
2017 will be a special year for the company, as it celebrates its 25th anniversary – it will be launching two new blended malts, re-launching its Islay Storm brand, and delving into the deepest recesses of its cellars to find some birthday treats.”
