An interesting and slightly smokey and coastal Highland single malt. Whilst still showing signs of youth the smoke here really isn’t powerful enough and I was left wishing for something with a little more punch or oomph. 80/100

Littlemill 40 Years Old Celestial Edition Whisky Review: Definitely sherry influenced, perhaps some of the sweeter and dried fruit/nut flavours belie that cask-driven final maturation, however they do not mask that florality of Littlemill’s spirit character. 92/100
Glengoyne 28 Year Old whisky review: A superbly aged and dark sherried palate to this whisky, full of robust nut, chocolate and coffee elements but still with that soft fruit spirit character underneath. 91/100
Irish Single Malt 13 Years Old Batch #3 whisky review: Plenty of body, packed full of fresh fruit and cereals, just a touch to sour and oaky on the finish for me. Quite a summery dram. 83/100
Rock Oyster 18 Years Old whisky review: At the time of tasting I found it hard to separate this in preference from the power of the standard blend. With time, both maturation and time in the glass and on the palate, this 18 year old edition reveals more subtleties and complexity and so now just pips the standard by a point in my book. For the price differential however it is hard to pass by the standard Rock Oyster blend. 86/100
Rock Oyster whisky review: On revisit I’m still very impressed with this Island blend from Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range of blended malt whisky. If anything this sample seemed a little smoother and more tame with a twist of some sharper citric elements added into it which works really well with the salt and smoke. 85/100
A delicious single malt Irish whiskey expression with a distinct grapefruit and gooseberry fruit characteristic and syrupy and mouth coating texture which displays these to the utmost on the palate. Definitely one I could enjoy drinking time and time again! 89/100
