Ten remarkable Scotch Whiskies will be released in limited quantities this autumn, as part of Diageo’s annual Special Releases collection. Eagerly anticipated by whisky enthusiasts and knowledge hunters worldwide, the limited edition natural cask strength bottlings are meticulously hand-selected each year by a masterful blending team, to form a rare and sought-after collection.

Impeccably crafted and beautifully packaged, the collection encompasses some of the rarest and oldest whiskies from famous, lesser known and often closed distilleries. Each whisky within the 2018 Special Releases range is a limited edition rare bottling that represents a fragment of Scotch Whisky history. These whiskies have been crafted to be cherished and enjoyed responsibly.

This year’s collection celebrates a year of firsts, from the first inclusion of an INCHGOWER bottling, to the ingenious and unique five-cask process used to triple mature THE SINGLETON GLEN ORD 14 year old. There are ten bottlings in all, nine of which have previously been announced. The 10th bottling has now been revealed as CLADACH, a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky that captures the character of Scotland’s coastline, as it features a blend from six renowned coastal distilleries – Caol Ila, Clynelish, Lagavulin, Oban, Inchgower and Talisker. Gaelic for the word ‘shoreline’, CLADACH embodies maritime aromas of salt, warm sand and seaweed, and is salty with rich honey and citrus notes in taste.

The 2018 Special Releases selection offers an extra special and rare opportunity to collect bottles from the TALISKER 8 year old, to the exceptionally rare CARSEBRIDGE 48 year old.

Donald Colville, Diageo’s Global Malts Ambassador, said: “The Special Releases launch is a highlight in ours and every whisky lovers calendar year. It’s a collection that allows both knowledgeable whisky fans and those new to Scotch to hunt out truly unique limited editions. The exceptional variety and quality of whiskies in this year’s collection
