New Whisky Releases: Week 8 2018
Bunnahabhain Toiteach a Dhà £45.80
More peaty Bunna, this time sherry-heavy too, once again winning awards for the most unpronounceable expression of the week. Translates as ‘Smoky Two’, shame really as Smoky and the bandit would have had much more appeal.
Nom nom old Longmorn
err… see above
2017 winter release fo Glenfarclas Family Casks now available/selling out fast – not that this ’88 bottle had any relevance too me but seemed like a good example 😉
Great whisky, not worth nearly £200 bucks. As we can’t advocate stealing one – find a generous rich friend and drop lots of hints they should buy one for you to drink together – simples!
Octomore 2009 Masterclass 8.4 Virgin Oak TWE £150 from either
Octomore 8.4 Virgin Oak, matured in everything but Virgin Oak apart from 20% matured in Virgin Oak – clear as mud? Thank god the SWA don’t actually care enough to do anything about it as it wasn’t matured in Tequila casks – as if that’s what the real problem really is?
Fuckwits At least we can all sleep safe knowing that the traditional practice of making Scotch whisky is safe and secure in sound and responsible hands…
Worth every penny, buy 2, 1 to drink and 1 to keep.
Starward celebrate 10 years with a whisky made from all eight types of cask they have used for maturation, this leans towards some lovely Australian wine cask maturation.
Part of six bottles released for the German market, unusually available from TWE here in the UK.
