Whisky New Releases 2017 Week 44
Welcome to The Whiskyphiles New Releases, our weekly report on the best of both the official and independently bottled whisky recently released.
Our top picks this week:
- The Glenrothes 2006 (bottled 2017) (cask 5465) An official single cask bottling (admittedly only 11 years old) but for less than a squillion quid seems like some sort of weird throwback to the 1980’s and 90’s when no-one drank or even liked whisky
- Cambus 25 Year Old 1991 – Claxton’s grain yes but from a closed distillery and also usually quite delicious!
- Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 59 always a firm favourite, cask strength, old style sherried Aberlour – subject to batch variation and some have been sulphury and others not but always worth a try and it is affordable!
Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 59 £48.83
Box Quercus I – Robur £85.99
Scotch Malt Whisky Society
CASK No. 41.98 La Dolce Vita £54.50
